After a couple of hours sleep we arrive outside the Olympia theatre in Dublin- A fine city with which to begin the tour. As people awake and enter the venue it becomes quite apparent that the journey over the Irish sea has taken its toll. (Nothing to do with the curry or the alcohol, although I'm sure in certain cases this may have been a contributary factor!)
The venue is spacious and the crew freindly, a top gig to start. I discover that Beever and the great MD have decided to add a little something to the lighting, a rope light carefully draped over the keys, such style lads!
Back to that curry or has that curry come back to me, passing HHJJ who's just passed his. Something is definately trying to get the better of my guts!
It was quite a quiet day on the whole, new tour syndrome was the only thing to break the silence when we all have to consult the great God of the road Gor, for instructions on how to do a gig.
After soundcheck HHJJ and myself get out for a nice Italin meal up the road, and v.nice it was too, complete with Swedes singing Happy Birthday In Swedish!?!
Gig was good, complete with Irish merriment in the audience department with some superb singing from the gathered fans. Its nearly the end of the set and I suddenly feel like my guts want to be in another body, I look at Milky who just grins as he shakes his head at me, Last song, tonight its "I had a time", I know Ive got about two minutes before the next Q, I take the oppertunity and make a dash, (pebbledash) returning to my post to complete the set. Tonight I'm going to take it easy I think. After the trailer is packed and a most rock and roll of cup of tea I curl into my bunk and dream of the greasepaint the stars and..... THE LIMELIGHT IN BELFAST!!!!!
