as for meself, I've been sampling lots of very fine Rioja whilst on my travels. Only managed to save one bottle of rosé to bring home though.

Personally I'm into Wolf Blass Yellow Label at the moment, having consumed 4 bottles of the stuff over the last week or so. Not all on my own I hasten to add! I did have some assistance. But I must admit there is a bottle of Margaux waiting in the wings saying 'Drink Me, Drink Me' but I don't look on it as a step up, more a sort of side ways suffle.

Oh Margeux eh! Do you swig that from the bottle like you did the old Chateu neuf du pap at SG 4?

i was just wondering how u all became crew, cos it seems like a dream job but is there an official way to get into it if u see what i mean, or is it just being in the right place at the right time?

Or the wrong place at the right time mate! I think you'll find that the majority of crew got into it by accident rather than design. Personally I used to spend lots of money on vintage guitars etc at a music shop that also had a small PA system. They took pity on me and gave me occasiional employment which grew as did the company. Eventually turned freelance after a few years of stacking black boxes and loading trucks. Not very glamorous at all and certainly not a dream job but it has it's own joys and beats working in a factory.

oh right thanx. so i've got to go and buy loads of vintage guitars?hhhmmmm, not the easiest (or cheapest) profession to get into.i'll have to start hanging round all the wrong places at the wrong times from now on-does on the beach with my acoustic geetar when i'm supposed to be at school count?

one of the best ways to get into crew work is to get yourself into Hull Uni. Once your there you can join our fine committee. We are responsible for looking after all the unions sound and light equipment on standard nights and then we get to work with the crews when bands come in - such as embrace.

Can i just say a quick hello to all the embrace crew. Little Jo or Sally Webster if you prefer has just become our boss!!

We are all freelance geezers who work for other bands as well.

For example I did a tour with Roachford after the Embrace tour last year, Gordon toured with David Gray, Gary toured with the Steps dance troupe, Milky is about to do some work with Helloween, and I'm not sure what Beeves, Abbiss or Des are up to.

I'm sitting here at the moment having a righteous time with Des. I'm running a Rehearsal/ recording studio doing bits of work with bands like The Drifters. Des has just returned from 5 weeks out in Australia.If he spends another week at home it could get nasty. Drum tech for hire, you know it makes sense.

Ey up Sprout, the Orgasmatron belongs to me.I bought it after an amazing demonstration on me. It is pushed down gently onto your head, moved up and down and side to side stimulating your nerve endings on your head. Some people don't like it depending on how ticklish they are.

The Little Fella has gone missing! Sometime during the Glasgow show on Sunday 12th Nov, Little Gor went missing from the stage area and we'd very much like him back please. Last seen wearing a white T shirt with green sleevless jumper and a kilt, he's about 12 inches tall with black glasses,a spikey hairdo and bears a remarkable resemblance to Big Gor backline tech who is his Dad. If anyone has him or knows where he is we would love to have him back, no questions asked.
